Two employees shaken by El Paso Walmart themselves captured El Paso's sorrow.
The horror began at 10:39 am – Saturday August 3, 2019. Six short minutes later, the community had trouble assessing the damage caused by a mass shooter who had gone to El Paso to target the Hispanics. Twenty-three residents of Borderland were killed and 22 others injured in one of the deadliest mass fire in the history of the modern United States.
The scope of the massacre was horrible. The attack was clearly planned as a few minutes before the shooting start, a message filled with hatred was published online. The shooter wrote on a “Hispanic invasion of Texas” – his twisted motive for an act of despicable hatred.
The killed and the injured appreciated what started as a beautiful Saturday morning in El Paso. They took advantage of routine shopping outings in one of the most popular grocery stores in the city.

Throughout the city, El Pasoans was worried about their relatives who visited the store. We told the family and friends concerned to go to MacArthur Elementary if they were looking for a loved one.
