There are few people who can speak personally whether it is possible to play on both sides in the NFL and Sanders is one of them. Sanders, perhaps the biggest cornerback in the history of the NFL, had cams in attack throughout his career. In 1996, he also played the receiver regularly with Dallas Cowboys.

Sanders used Hunter for 688 snaps in defense and 672 in attack last season, an average of 104.6 snaps per game. It is not as if Sanders thought it was too much or that he could not reproduce this in the NFL.
“If they allow him to do it, what they should, he will be phenomenal,” Sanders told McDonald.

Colorado had a simple plan for Hunter throughout the season.
The Buffaloes would play on Saturday and Hunter would not train until Wednesday. Sanders said on Sunday, regular players came to the facilities but did not have to participate in any activity. Mondays and Tuesdays, Hunter would have left. It gave him three full days to bounce back by playing 100 snaps or more.

“So now he starts his work week on Wednesday. So that his body can recover,” said Sanders in Yahoo Sports “we certainly had a plan.”
For most NFL teams, Monday is a light day (or often a day off after a victory), Tuesdays are generally turned off and Wednesdays are when the preparations of the week start. It is not uncommon for veterans to get rid of Wednesdays. Hunter would not be a veteran but a special case. Saving it until training on Thursday is not too much request.

The NFL is more violent with larger and better athletes, and the NFL has a longer season, but Sanders does not seem to be concerned about this.
